Default Crop Circles - Impressive art or something more sinister

Phoenix crop circle may predict end of the world - Telegraph

I thought these had been explained years back and it was all a hoax, a load of locals out on the p1ss etc. the recent Jelly Fish was a very impressive piece of work and now the Phoenix Rising, although how they get to the theory it relates to the end of the world is a bit OTT.

I always imagined it would be very difficult from the ground to create something as exact as these. Very impressive pieces of art none the less

600ft Jelly fish

400 ft Phoenix

Must be a heck of a nuisance for the farmer though!

Basic vandalism unless they pay the farmer for the crop damage

They probably take days to do it then say they just found it one morning. Not as if someone is constanly watching the field to say it appeared overnight

Why don't you ever see any that have errors in them?

You wouldn't just go out and do that, you'd need to build up to it and mess some up on the way

Because they shake the field like an etch-a-sketch and start over ?

thought they'd largely stopped because the main bloke/vandal who did them had topped himself?

How would you know whether any of them had errors in or not

To be fair Urban, that is a good point

But how would we the public ever find out, since we aren't privy to the original plans

I mean, for all we know, that phoenix could originally supposed to have been an owl

From Wikipedia;

In 1996, a circle appeared near Stonehenge, and the farmer set up a booth and charged a fee. He collected £30,000 in four weeks. The value of the crop had it been harvested was probably about £150.

They do seem to get more elaborate and impressive as time passes.
