Red face Got pulled by the police this morning...

When staying in London, I do my best to cycle into work. This morning was no different and I tend to find that there are a lot of, shall we say, less road savvy and slower cycle traffic about. This tends to manifest itself more in rush hour and especially around traffic lights.

So when I came upon a group of such people stacked up at the traffic lights on Whitechapel Road/Cambridge Heath Road, I went past them and stopped before the box junction. I know the sequencing of the lights and I prepared to move off and as I did, they went amber...

20 yds down the road & I hear a police siren, so I make sure that I'm tight to the curb but it took me another 50 before I realise he's after me lol.

Pulled over and I got a bollocking but no fine - to be honest he was very decent about it.

Oops - note to self

Cant argue with that result, Its worth taking the telling off to avoid a fine. I still maintain that the majority I meet are decent people.

Fair play to them and to you for taking the talking to well and not giving it the "aint you got nothing better to do" speech
Dangerous cycling carrys a maximum fine of 1500 quid I believe, so its worth being polite lol

I should have been a bit more circumspect in front of a police van! Problem was that I didn't notice him...
