I bought a One Touch Gold from Dawsons a week and a half ago. Twas £130 at the time (list £160) but they had a 15% off everything (Bank Holiday) weekend sale, except if you spent over £100 in which case it was 20% off!!!!

I actually bought the Gold 57cm plus a premium cover for £130 (picked up at the store) - so was a very happy bunny

I already have a Silver which it is getting on for twenty years old and still usable, however i suggest that it is worth the extra few quid to get the fully enclosed ash collector with the Gold - hence the upgrade. A very nice bit of kit

We bought a Landmann portable bbq (£40) for trips and holidays and its sooooooo great we use it at home instead of the flashy >£250 gas one!

Portable BBQ

Fuel wise we now use heat beads instead of the usual charcoal briquettes or lumpwood as they last longer, give a better heat output and can be re-used for a 2nd time if you close off your vents after so they go out.
BARBECUE FUEL/HEAT BEADS/CHARCOAL 4 X 4KG BAGS on eBay, also, Barbecue Utensils Accs, Conservatory, Patio Barbecue, Home Garden (end time 07-Jun-09 08:51:48 BST)

We wouldn't use anything else for bbq fuel now.

. . . . that bbq is the best 40 quid I've spent!

Forgot to mention, I regularly cook food for 6+ of us on the bbq and have easily cooked for 12 or more on occasions. Also, the area under the barbie between the folding legs is a good place to put cooked food in a tray as it keeps it hot under there.

And you can even do the Sunday roast in it! After years of buying cheap crap, I splashed on one of these, and they are superb!

I've been using a B&Q £25 jobbie for the last 6 years. Keep it clean, get a decent book and cook your food properly.

No complaints so far over the last 6 years

Tomorrow's BBQ is marinading in the fridge now: chicken in thyme, tarragon and olive oil
