One for watch people
Maybe not on Par with rolex watches but i have one of these watches
Adidas Chronograph Sports Watch on eBay, also, Wristwatches, Watches, Jewellery Watches (end time 08-Jun-09 22:45:42 BST)
now may not be much to some but i paid £140 when i got it.
it now needs new batteries,i have been to my local place but they took one look at it and said cant do it
another place said £25 to do it but it wont be waterproof afterwards, which is kinda pointless.
so,how do i get a battery replaced in it,guess it has 2,one for digi/analogue etc and it needs to be waterproofed again.
any places that do this that are good ?
not keen on posting it to any old place without having others tried them etc
cheers

Your local place sounds crap, don't go back there.
Take it to a decent jewellers. They'll be able to change the battery and pressure test it for £20 or so. Most Timpsons type places will be able to change the battery for less than a Tenner. If it was waterproof when it was opened as long as the o-ring is still solid and they put the back on again correctly it will most likely still be waterproof for everyday wear.

Try this guy
Watch Repair and Watch Servicing - by Goldtime
He should be able to help out. Its a good watch and as Nat said there is no reason for it not to be waterproof after wards. I think they might be saying it to cover themselves.

It does have two batteries, one for the digital side and one for the analogue, its unusual for both to go at the same time, the digital should go first.
Never leave a watch with a dead battery in it, as they can leak and ruin the watch.
The batteries cost £6 for 10, and the seals cost £10 for 1000 pieces, and it will take 10 min to do, so you can see how much the outlets are ripping you off.
You do need special tools though, and a small amount of knowhow....
As you said its not an expensive watch, but its worth replacing the batteries for the sake of a tenner.
Are you local to Liverpool?
