Default Bought a new printer, but inks are unavailable!

Just splashed out on a new Canon photo-printer, to replace my last colour printer that went t*ts up about a year ago. It had £20 cashback, so I went with it.

BUT: neither Comet, Currys, Dixons or Argos are yet stocking the inks, and apparently it only comes with "test inks", about 20 pages' worth.

Now I know that in the past, when printers came WITH inks, the spare ink cartridges weren't often available for 6-8 weeks, but to send out a printer with TEST inks, and the cuustomer can't buy the inks, well that's just stupidity.

Who said the Japs had business acumen? Mind, I did buy the printer...........

Order some off the net... should get a much better price compared to retail, even if you stick with Canon cartridges.

It's a PIXMA iP 4600. Some inks already ordered off the net, thanks to all who replied...............but I still think Canon are daft to sell a printer but no inks locally: surely they are missing a trick, since the inks I've ordered aren't canon, but a chipped alternative?

Alls I have to do now is try it, choose a photo and print it.

Dude,

Just Ink and Paper | Canon CLI-521 Black (CLI521B)

Original Canon inks for your printer, all in stock, and all pretty cheap. From experience you'd be daft to use non genuine inks in a Canon printer.

My Canon came with a full set of inks (MP970).

Mind it wasn't a cheap printer, so I would have expected them to be included. Just as well really, seeing that it takes 7 seperate cartridges.
