Exam kids hurt
BBC NEWS | England | Kent | Duct collapse injures exam pupils
Horrible, horrible breaking news story - apparently 14 kids injured, but no doubt many, many more traumatised by what they have seen. Involved both year 9 & year 11 students.
I have just had a call from my sister to say my niece (who is at the school, sitting her exams) is okay, but some of her friends are not. It made me feel quite sick.
I hope this is taken into account as they have only just started sitting their GCSEs this week - how is any kid that was present going to concerntrate on their exams now?

Kids are remarkably resilient, hopefully some parents will not go overboard and make more of it than is required. Kids need to learn to deal with stress and problems, things just like this and take it in their stride, the best way to do so is to show proper leadership and set an example. Kids will pick up in the parents and teachers emotions so best to act in a proper and dignified manner and set a good expamle. Not form a group and sit around feeling sad, more deal with it and move on - they have exams to sit and things to so. Recognise it, get on with life and do not dwell - IMHO

Poor kids. I hope none of the injuries are serious
It will be interesting to see what the exam board do about marks, grades etc.
Those overseeing SATs aren't well known for their compassion
On a lighter note, Homer Simpson wasn't in the duct when it fell was he?
And before anyone says, I AM NOT MAKING LIGHT OF THOSE KIDS' PLIGHT.
