Don't be stupid Paul, they have / done soemthing worthwhile for this country.
About time these people were allowed to stay in the country they have / do fight for.

Brown is just confirming what terrible judgment about people he has.
Didn't he realise that 99.99999% of the British public would support these craggy faced little heroes?
They might even feel that gov't funds could be spent on the Gurkhas rather than the likes of Fred Goodwin.

I know who id want watching my back if i ever went into battle,

I for 1 work with at least 7 Gurkha's and all I can say is they are brilliant people! They work for the military and they guard the base being MPGS (Military Police Guard service!) 
They get my vote to stay in this country! Unlike the others Immigrant *****!

I have known a good many Gurkhas and they are particularly good people with first class manners as indeed have their children who are very well brought up.
I have never understood that attitude towards a people who have put their necks on the line for this country and who are such brave and effective warriors. There should be no question about them settling in this country. How can such loyal people be discarded in place of the economic migrants who take our cash and live on benefits. Why should a Gurkha's pension be so low compared with a British soldier and the illegal immigrants' benefits for that matter.
It is very pleasing to see this scurrilous bunch being voted down by Parliament and also the Labour MP's voting with their consciences for once. I think such a defeat is worthy of a vote of no confidence in an effort to get rid of them before they destroy this country completely.

Funny isn't it brown happy to allow up to 1 million illegals + anybody from the Eu that wants to come here, having never contributed to the UK in any way, probably never heard of the UK until they realised it was the land on milk and honey yet he has been so against the Gurkha's, him and Blair and have made small concessions to them. Peole who have sworn allegance to queen and country and served some 15+ years defending both it and us - they have earned their right to be here, Brown!

I know who i would rather have living in our towns, cities, villages, etc.!

The vote is in to allow these people to stay..ok thats good.
But the critisism of Labour and Brown is surely wrong.....what the did the tories do while they were in power?
Whatever we think, the progress has only been made under Labour.
