Off to have my arm sliced open.
Woohoo, the day has finally come to have my Carpal Tunnel Release surgery. As long as all goes to plan I will be pain free in my arm for the first time in about 3-4 years once the wound has healed.
Anyone else had it? Successful or otherwise?
With my luck I will sneeze as they cut my wrist, hit an artery and I will bleed out

Cheers mate. Its a very common op with a good success rate, but I know people who its not worked out for.
This is the follow up to my tennis elbow op on the same arm last year
So between the 2 ops, hopefully it does the trick.
Not bothered about the actual operation, just wondering how uncomfortable the local is being put in the arm lol. And interested to see what its like when it wears off, and what pain killers from my cabinet I will choose

I know someone who had it done both arms. Worked well, they struggled to turn kitchen taps on was that bad. Now as good as new! That was at least 5 years back and been fine since. Good luck, as said pretty common operation I think nowadays.

Get them to make an artistic scar that you can build into body art scarification style!
Maybe a few extra lines and have them write "snazy" along your arm while anaesthetised...

Good luck mate, catch me on MSN after you've had it done if possible. Be nice to know of your experiences, considering the similarities of our injuries. Shame mines inoperable, but would certainly like to hear of your tales, sounds interesting

Waiting list 4 weeks, operation time was 10 mins once they got started. Sadly the way the appointments are booked, you all turn up together and go one at a time, so some have no wait and others about 4 hours. Trust me to be last, lol.
2 weeks in a sling now, main bandages off in 2 days, stitches out in 2 weeks

I suffer from CTS in both hands,
it used to be only when i did lots of gripping / holding,
now as i,m a little bit older, its near on constant.
As im typing now, i have pins and needles in my LH and my RH isnt too bad,
but!!! it goes from pins and needles/ numbness, to shooting pains in the
arm, and pains when i wiggle my fingers,
Holding things is fun, as after a few minute,s cant feel my fingers!
however it vary,s in its severity.
I,m glad it went well
how did you get ours actioned? was it via your gp?

Get well soon mate. Its a minor op with VERY low complication rate. It shouldn't be too sore as the incision is quite small and superficial
Btw, loving the Crackberry! Loaded BB application world the other day. Have you tried Vilingo? It works quite well.
All the best

Now the local has worn off I am starting to feel whats been done, but am painfree in my forearm for the first time in ages, so thats a positive sign.
From what I have heard, its very worth while for most Hope you get yours sorted. Have you had EMG testing done? Suprised they didnt follow up on that.

App world is cool, but also a drain, so I deleted it when I was done with it Memory heavy. Glad the berry is working out for you though I have finally found a theme I like lol.
