Anybody been to the Caymen Islands?
I'm thinking of showing off on SN about places I'd like to go somewhere tropical for a holiday later in the year and I found a picture of the Caymen Islands.
I was originally looking at Roratonga, but I'm keen to find out more about the Caymen Islands now I've seen the picture. It looks good to me, golden sands, tranquil waters, a good mixture of chilling and watersports (careful, I'll do the jokes ) and sailing.
So has anyone been? Any recommendations on where to stay and what time of year is the best to go?
Has anyone been to both the Cook Islands ands the Caymen Islands, and able to offer a unbiased report of both?
If not, it'll be a weekend away in Skeg Vegas

I lived in the cayman islands for a while and although its a nice place I would not recommend it for a holiday. If you are going to go I would stay at "Treasue island" its an excellent hotel right on the beach and quite close to grand cayman town centre and nearer to most of the bars that you would possibly drink at.

I'm an ex-pat living in the Cayman Islands. As said above it's a nice place but very expensive. If diving is your thing then it's great here. Bear in mind the hurricane season runs Jun 1 - Nov 30 with the most active months being Jul, Aug & Sep.
