Default Overtook someone on the way home...

...because they were dawdling and he decided he didn't like it. He tried to close up so I'd have nowhere to pull in, then when I had, proceeded to close up even more and sit right up behind me.

Half a mile further on, he undertook me when I moved out to turn right at a roundabout, indicated what he thought I might like to do when alone as he went past, then pulled in front of me to make me stop. He obviously wanted to have his say, so I just smiled, blew him a kiss, waved and drove round him. Looked like he was trying to take my photo with his mobile.

I'd just like to say "get over it" to my mystery admirer.

What I normally get is the High Beam Headlight treatment

I used to get mad, until I spent a while in the wifes Micra ... some cars really cannot go that fast - I hated having idiots in faster cars in my rearview mirror - somehow thinking I could go faster, when I couldn't!

I now try and be more considerate of those unable to build speed like we can ...... chill

Thats where having 2 x 100watt rear facing spots (for work use actually) comes in handy. They try to blind me, I burn their retinas !

I had some kn*b in a Passat dawdling at 30 mph in a 40 mph, so I says to "the land-lady", I bet he speeds up if I move to overtake....

So I bluffed him, and received a face full of diesel smog as he booted it. Sadly the Jeep isn't quick enough to "have him", so I just follow at 40 mph.

So he slows down to 30 mph again ! God I wish I'd been in mine.

Kn*bhead !

Some people just dont like being passed, even if you dont break any limits. What is it with them?
I find that I meet many Jim Clarks when I'm out on my motorbike, they sit at 40 or 50 until you catch them up then all of a sudden its 'game on' are they really going to out drag a motorbike in the repmobiles? It just makes life that bit more dangerous for everybody when there's really no need.

I find that, as most of my driving is done on the M62, its a large majority rather than a minority that just have no idea how to conduct themselves when on the motorway!!! Cars stuck in the middle lane doing 65 then flash when I go from inside to outside and back!!! Cars sat in the outside lane when nothing in the two inside lanes but wont pull over. Queueing to leave the motorway (for a mile) and T**TS nipping in with 50 yards to go to save them having to queue (would they do that at the supermarket??).

I overtook a polo the other day that was in the middle lane (only went upto 80) and then he decided that he wanted to race me.....got right up my jacksy!!! What an idiot! I dont think its the car you drive either as it happens it the Boxster, MX5, M3 and daily derv!!

I get people doing that constatly, pisses me off even more when I'm in the van as when they accelerate to stop me getting past I don't have the power. I think 90% of drivers think you should never overtake them as they all suddenly turn into ***** when you do!

Default Bikes ! Where do I start....

LOL at the bike one !

Today on the way to Oulton Park I pulled out to pass a car and a HGV, having checked it was clear behind....

And two cars back in the queue a biker sits up and "waves" at me ? ? ? ?

By the time he'd finished I was about 400 yards ahead.... a mile further up the road he blasts past at god knows what speed.

FAIL !

I can never understand these people, always get it on the way to/from work, do they think they're being clever by doing this?

Off their sodding heads more like it.

Well all we need now is some police on our roads .......
Driving standards have dropped dramatically over the last couple of years and I have to say, it dosent seem to be the boy racers causing the problems now, but the old and insane

I don't worry about many gaps overtaking people in the car and they can accelerate as much as they want

I had a bad case of this recently on the road from Lydd to Ashford, I overtook about 7 cars in a row because they were all dawdling sunday drivers right at the start of the road. It had just gone dark and I could see a car trying to edge out to get past the cars I had just overtook. I watched in my mirror as it overtook all 7 cars 1 by 1 over the course of 2 or 3 miles they did this on a couple of dangerous bands and looked a bit weird as if they were on a mission!. I carried on cruising at around the national limit until the overtaker caught up with me. I can honestly say that I have never had someone drive so close to me that I could not see there headlights, he must of been thinking "how dare someone overtake me in one of those fancy scubarus! I will show them whos boss!" he then tailgated for about a mile before overtaking me at 80mph in an P reg escort van!!!

I have no idea what his problem was but he certainly showed me! I expect he was also flex his muscles when he overtook just to confirm his masculinity!

Ive had another issue today with some ***** in a Focus. Pulled out into traffic then hit some lights and the Focus was behind me probably thinking 'how dare he pull out in front of me' so go right up my ****. After the lights you have to commit to one of three lanes and we both wanted the same lane but as I drove across the 3 he darted across and tried to nip down the side of me trying to take me out!! He then stayed right yp my **** until I turned off at the next roundabout....both him and his girlfriend gave me the w**ker sign!!
Thought it was a bit strange but my wife wouldnt let me follow him to ask him why he would drive like a t**t and then Im the w**ker.

Ive decided when Im not in the Boxster and dont have the wife I will ask him his issue!!

I agree about the police, but you are being unfair towards the elderly. They are perfectly entitled to drive at less than the speed limit. Its just a matter of a bit of patience until you can overtake safely.

Those being insane should be done for it!

Years ago when I had my Focus RS, I showed a Boxter driver the way home one night. Got to a 30mph zone heading into town, when the Boxter driver decided to show me what real speed was. Overtook me doing at least 60mph.

He really showed me.......

When I had my Impreza, I always got the fingers/w@nker sign/Flashing lights, if I ever dared overtake anyone. Usually the 30mph in a 60mph zone weekend driver. Cars would always speed up to try and stop me overtaking.

I never got this when out in my old mans RS4. I never get it in the Golf. Guess certain cars just p1ss people off. The Impreza seems the popular choice.

well I've just driven 1300 miles up and around scotland last week ------- some stunning roads for having fun on and overtaking- the scooby loved it.

I can honestly say 99% good driving, people pulling in to let you overtake etc

of course not much was going to match the impreza and people don't tend to race you.

plenty of points I wouldn't overtake........ OH- lo and behold on all those dangerous stupid points there was always someone in a BMW to do it for me......... yet another reason not to buy one. You just couldn't make it up.
