Do you feel safe where you live?
Things like walking home at night and public transport etc.
I think i am pretty lucky where i live compared to what you read and hear lately.
Thankfully i have a car and don't need to walk anywhere but i would feel safe In my town and surrounding areas (i think)
I wondered how different it can be up and down the country
I am in Hertfordshire

pretty safe round here most of the time, although I am wary of the pi55heads at the weekend as thats the only time we have trouble when this bunch are walking home at 11pm to 5am!

Love it around here, Safest village on the outskirts on the safest town in the safest county in the country. I dont lock the doors when I go out, I dont lock the car, Postman can leave things on the door steps still.
You can walk around the village anytime and people will say hello to you, Everyone looks out for each other its great.
5 miles down the road across the Hants border...... HELL!!!!!

Would struggle to feel any safer as no one even knows where the house is, it's surrounded by thick brambles and gorse, can only be approached (past two houses) up a steep drive (gravel at the top), we have a dog with good hearing and it's in Cornwall.
Unlike in Bristol where everyone got robbed all the time - from cars and houses. Definitely didn't feel safe there.

Safe and comfortable here. Had my Renault on the drive for about 5 years and never locked it. Happy where I live, I wouldnt have bought the house if I didnt think it was the right place to be. I know not everyone has the privelidge to choose where they live though.
Saying that though, most of the town is safe here, theres only a couple of places round here Id be wary and even then I doubt Id feel unsafe...

The biggest danger round our way is walking into a tree after dark - theres no street lights! Otherwise as above, safest county not that it makes much difference to the insurance premiums.

So to make this more interesting, does anyone NOT feel safe?!
Have never feared for myself, just been worried about theft in the past. And in Bristol car and bike theft is out of control.

I'm way to hard to feel unsafe.... I'll take on all comers, bottle/knife/gun wielding yobs are my speciality, I'm like Rambo.... only much tougher and better looking

My Gran lives in the centre of Werneth Shes one of the very few whites on the estate but she actually gets on well with her neighbours. Worse thing is though, there are kids of very young ages driving cars without licence and Insurance etc all times of the day/night. Shes had her car hit on several occasions and never caught them. Cost her a few bob fixing that Must admit when I broke down outside her house I had a group of asians in the car pass me and turn back around, I was a little nervous at this stage but they pulled up, asked if there was a problem and if I needed help. I politely told them I knew what I was doing but thanks for the offer anyway, got a "no worries, good luck" and off they went on their way. Was rather shocked but very pleased. Changed my view a little bit tbh.

My area of town is very safe. Nice area, nice people etc.
My Girlfriend lives in the not so nice part of town. You wouldn't believe what goes on round that way. Opened my eyes.
Just the other day I watched as 2 girls had a fight in the middle of the street. Quite funny at first, untill one of the girls boyfriends decided his girlfriend needed a bit of help. So popped back into his house, grabbed a Baseball bat, and smashed the other girl over the head with it.... Nice.
Thus ensued a couple of hours of various people coming round to to sort out the Baseball carrying fiend. Who called on some of his mates to come round and sort them out.
Luckily it was at the bottom of the street and well away from me. Round that way, if people know your house is empty for a few hours on a night, it will be when you return.
I prefer my side of town.
PS. She's moving next week

I live a few miles away and it gets pretty lively over here, so wouldn't say I feel 100% safe but house is alarmed, CCTV, security lights, dog
