Holiday Recommendation ?

Holiday Recommendation ?
Me and my wife are looking at going away in the next week or two. We want to go abroad somewhere, but not sure where.
It will be our first holiday with our 1 year old daughter. We don't want to go anywhere too warm, or spend more than a couple of hours on a plane as we don't think it would be fair on our daughter.
We are fairly stuck for ideas where to go. We did think about Switzerland, but not sure the best place to stay ?
Thanks in advance

Croatia.
I might be able to rent you a nice apartment there as well.

Nice is lovely.... 2 and bit hours flight....
lovely blue Med. cheap train ride into monaco (30 mins or so, along the coast)
you got the old town for wandering about, the lovely sea and promenade, and more restaurants than you can poke a stick at!!
it would be my place of choice right now.
temp about 20-22 deg c at the moment !!

Majorca? Plenty of decent beaches around the island. Shopping in Palma isnt bad, lots to see around the island if you can rent a car etc... Pretty cheap to get out there and at this time of year wont be too hot.

Just come back from a week in Feurterventura with the wife and 2 little ones (one's 4, the others 15 months) and had a fab time. Weather was 23-24 degrees everyday and we were pleased with the place where we stayed in Correlejo.
3 hr 45 min flight wasn't too bad (although didn't like the legroom on the Thomas Cook plane - i.e. none) but great time had by all. We're looking to re-book at the same place later this year.

Some friends of mine have just come back from Malta after a 1 week holiday with their 1yr old. Said they had a good time and it was all quite child friendly.

I took my son to Turkey when he was 4 months old and again a month later. Great place, lovely food and the weather was hot but i made sure he was kept cool.
You may be lucky and get a half empty plane so extra seats to use. The flight is 4 hours but it soon passes.

Want somewhere a little unknown but stunning, easy to get to with some great boutique hotels (think undiscovered version of Cannes or similar) - try Llafranc - on the Med coast very near the French border (it's in Spain) and half an hours drive from Girona -where Ryan Air fly to.
And you must eat at Hotel Casamar - stunning food.

If you like the idea of Switerland think about Austria too.
The mountains are stunning in the summer.
As above Malta and Gozo are nice, and they seem to like kids and the brits, which is unheard of in most places! Just avoid July and August...too hot for a kiddie.

Alternatively if you prefer a traditonnal / museum like hotel, then the Negresco is the 5 star in Nice to stay at but it's not to everyone's taste.
A category down but still very nice and probably a bit cheaper is the Meridien Nice.
And finally if you don't mind not being right by the sea, the newly renovated NH Nice, is trendy and central.
I hope this helps

Terzo,
Have you thought about renting an apt in Nice. I know a few really nice ones that I have stayed in if you want details. Much cheaper and better than hotels.

Diced with an orange Murcielago on Promenade des Anglais!
We then took the car on the ferry to Corsica for the main part of our holiday. That's a fantastic island (we drove all over it). Non-commercial, very few Brits there and they hate the "ruling" French, so that's got to be a good thing!
