Dead pixel on LCD TV

Dead pixel on LCD TV
I bought a LCD from ASDA about 8 month ago and for a while now it's had a few dead pixels on it which is quite annoying.
Does ayone know if they would exchange the TV under their 1 year electronics warranty?

Some light reading for you courtesy of the late pslewis:-

Waiting 8 months to discover that the dead pixels are annoying is odd?

There is a 6 month rule ..... up to 6 months old and the seller has to prove that the TV was NOT faulty when new - ie. it is assumed that the faults were there at the point of sale.
After 6 months it is up to the buyer to prove the faults were there at the point of sale.
The above is so that you can 'reject' the Tv and demand 100% of your money back.
In your case I would try to get it repaired - but faulty pixels generally means a new panel (a new TV to all intents and purposes).
ASDA are good with Customer Services so you could be OK - is it just a cheapo small one? Or a big whoppa?

What I find works well with 12month warranties is to keep the original box/packaging. Then return the goods boxed in its original packaging so its like a new item.
The times I've done that its a straight swap or refund with no quibbles (last time was a 11month old 15" LCD TV with a dead DVB tuner ).
When I returned something faulty without the packaging (last time was a toaster), they had to test it and call the helpdesk line to assertain if it was elgiable to be exchanged, which took alot longer to sort.
OK, our attic is full of boxes, not that I find that an issue.

I have just phoned the ASDA Customer Helpline and explained the fault, they gave me a reference number and told me to take it to my local store for a full refund or to exchange the TV.
So it looks like ASDA customer service is a bit better than Currys

Do you mean ASDA ?
I agree. It seems strange to get really good customer service and then go elsewhere This Panasonic set looks similar.

Good news!
Lesson to be learned here - ASDA treat customers right - and stay away from the DSGi Group of Companies as they are on the outer limb of disgraceful treatment of Customers!
