Default M6 Toll is it worth me using it

Just looked at the price of the toll £4.70 each way are they having a laugh.

My question is i will be hitting birmingham about 8.00am will it save me a lot of time taking the toll or should i just stick to the m42.

I will be returning to birmingham about 2.00 pm same question.

Thanks.

Yes always empty due to the pricing , considering when it was being built it was " The M6 northern relief road " it has done nowt . The margins in road haulage are so tight no one can afford to send their trucks down it at £9.40 a go .

It has less cars on it than the M58 - It is truly awesome. I keep meaning to use the services on there just to be in the poshest services in Western Europe
At 8am it is a must to use that splendid piece of road. At 2pm I wouldnt bother

It can be but...

There have been a number of speed traps recently, particularly northbound just before main toll plaza ( camera on bridge ) and a few unmarked police cars knocking around.

Well if the price isn't a nail in the coffin then that is..

I can't remember what I used to pay to use it, but I used it a lot when it first opened. I think I paid £4.50 once when in a rush and that was the end of it for me. If I want to avoid the M6 now I just leave more time and use the A5 to miss Birmingham out.

back in the day it was 2,50 i think. that was when it used to be a race track. cos the cops never went on it, nowadays is almost worst and a normal motorway, because you'll be on your own pinning it.

get a jammer and you'll be set.

You better keep to the inside lane at that speed AND keep an eye on the rear view mirror just in case you get hit from behind

If only that was the case these days, the police are all over the road like a bad rash

I was down there the week before christmas and we saw two poolice cars and an umarked bmw on there.

If i'd have been driving we'd have gone the normal M6. wouldnt mind paying nearly £5 if I could really get a move on.

It was £2.50 when it opened,i used it a lot..

Now i avoid it.. Nearly a £10 return is a rip off...

Seen a lot of unmarked on there, dont think that you can go any quicker than on the M6 when its quiet...

Wont use it on principal now,you can use a lot of the A roads if coming from the north..
