Slumdog Millionaire
Saw this last night and for once a movie lives up to the hype.
Danny Boyle's direction is what makes the film for me as it moves along at a frenetic pace (reminiscent of parts of 'Trainspotting') never allowing you for one minute to get complacent and at the same time crafting a tale that provokes just about every emotion at some point in its running time.
Yes it's a little cliched in places, but that does not matter for the story, the acting and the way it is all woven together makes for a wonderfully entertaining movie.

Saw it last night too - great film. Thoroughly enjoyed it - quite harrowing in places and difficult to watch. Certainly shows you a side of India that you don't normally see.
The acting and direction were top rate - even more so when you consider that Dev Patel has had no formal training as an actor. And the kids who played the leads were terrific. Highly recommended.

Nearly saw it yesterday, but had to compromise with watching "Shooter" and "A.I." again on home cinema system Anyway, kids saw it with their dad. Son thought not much of it, daughter found it cool. I am gonna watch it this week, hence shying away from reviews atm. Just gonna gauge it there and then, with my own parameter
I have met some of the actors from the film. Will be cool to see them in action

Good film though, very entertaining and very different to other stuff thats out at the minute.
Hands up, how many people went and checked how much 20,000,000 rupees were worth?
