Love.film.com.....any good?
Hi,
£5.97 for three films a month. Sounds okay, any drawbacks. Anyone a member.
I like the idea of sending it back at your own convenience.

I have been thinking about it Paul, but I want to know how one returns the films; ie do you have to stock up on your own jiffy bags and stamps?
What happens if your parcel gets "lost in the post" etc...

ive used online DVD rental for years and never had a problem.
They send you the DVD in a reuseable return envelope. Occasionaly they will also send you spare envelopes, their very nice.
Only thing to remember is, you choose a list of DVDs and even though you choose high, medium, low preference as to which films you want to see, they choose which films you get.
So, if a new film comes out, you could wait a month or more before they send you the new film. Sometimes you will get it straight away but usually you have to wait.

We use them alot 3 films at home at any time for about £16 a month works really well as long as you keep your rental list with plenty on, and you can add new films to your list even though they are not released and they will be added when they come out.
If you want certain films quicker than others you need to select them to be the priority ones, it is very easy to use and the service is very good.
they email you when they recieve them and when they dispatch your next ones too so you always know whats going on, plus you can check online.
You can send up to 3 discs back in one envelope and request more envelopes online and you hang onto them as long as you want.
We used to use the Amazon one but moved accross when they sold it to lovefilm, and lovefilm are alot better and more efficient and they reply to your email
If anyone wants to use me as a referree please feel free to PM me as we would both get a month free a little cheeky but if it is there why not use it.

I stopped using them last year because of the number of scratched disks that arrived. They deal with it but PITA when only maybe 30% worked first time.
But maybe I was just unlucky.

Was thinking about joining Love Film aswell along with a friend, probably go for the cheapest option but would share films between us (4 films a month in that case) for under £4.
If you are gonna join, don't forget Quidco.com, you get about £15 worth of credit

I'm with EasyCinema, they use LoveFilm as the actual library but just charge £1.99 per rental rather than imposing a particular number of films per month.
Prompt delivery, never had a problem with damaged discs - no complaints yet.

I just keep half a dozen films or so in my selection; I get the odd whingeing email telling me I need to add more, I ignore it and they send me films that are on my list straight away anyway.

Have a search on-line for free trial - You can get codes which give you up to 3 months free.
After 3 months, cancel
Used various codes for about 2 years before they wised up to it (Same postcode / credit card) - Guy I know had been doing it for 4 years
If you can rip the films to watch at a later date, you can get quite a stock pile in those 3 months.
Sending them back the day after they arrived, I usually got the next batch less than a week later - So basically 40 films free
Cancel on-line after 10pm otherwise you have to speak to someone in a call centre

Same here, im on a 3 month Free trial with Tesco (the dvds come with lovefilm stickers on them).
I get 3 dvd or games unlimited a month but if i wanted to pay then it would cost me £18 a month but i will stick to free codes.
Ive currently got three xbox 360 games rented. It is much better than paying 40 notes for a game and if you dont like it then send it back and they will send you another from your list

It is a good service but when I decided I wasn't making good use of it and tried to cancel it was a nightmare.
Call centre kept saying I couldn't cancel until the end of the month and then when I did phone them when told they didn't do it. In the end I had to get my bank to stop paying them before they would cancel my subscription.
For that reason I wouldn't use them again.

I'm with them again. I got a 3 months free voucher through the post so I thought why not. I had a couple of scratched discs and long waits for popular films before but none so far this time.
I don't find their website the best, it can be slow and some of the lists don't get updated regularly enough, i.e. latest releases section sometimes has months old titles .
Have a search online and I'm sure you will find trial offers .

I used to do it through Tesco maybe 4 years ago, and like someone said above, I had a TERRIBLE rate of damaged discs.
Between 50 and 75% I received were unplayable or would freeze at a certain point half-way through.
Initially I put it down to a cheap dvd player, but I tried several machines with the same results.
Some of the discs I received were in a shocking state with scratches and dirt, and a couple of times I got discs that were actually broken into bits.
I dont understand how stupid people have to be to damage discs that badly.
Sure, they replaced them FOC, but I then had to wait again for the films, which was a hassle.
I cancelled it in the end as I just couldnt be bothered with it.
