Dumb things to do when suffering from Man Flu
Still it was worth it afterwards
If only for the view:
Llyn Llydaw at dawn when it was -6 and yes that is ice forming on the lake
Some of the other views were pretty impressive as well:
(despite all the 3" thick ice on the trail we managed to get up to the top of Snowdon)
Some of the path was basically a frozen waterfall:
but it was worth the struggle (and downright danger in some parts) for the view)
People (including us) were so worried about the way down that several decided to take the longer safer walk down to Llanberis and get the bus back to Pen y Pas... which was terrifying in itself as the bus driver was clearly on day release and drove like he wanted to die in a spectacular fireball!
Oh, and on the Friday - on the road away from Snowdon there are two lakes - and both were so solidly frozen that people were skating on them!

I've been up on that
It's so unusual to see Snowdonia like that, in fact, out of the kabillion times I've been there the tops have always been in cloud. Except for the day I went up to the top on the train which was clear and sunny but that was back in the old days when we had proper summers

I did that while on hols and am NOW off with man flu. I removed some carpet gripper rods this morning so that the laminate can be laid (by a professional) and i had to lie down for 30 mins (I kid you not: I was exhausted)
Thanks for the compliments on the pictures, it was hard NOT to take decent ones with that sunshine. I did mess some up though as I had the aperture settings on the camera set incorrectly for some of the summit pictures and they've washed out
I do like this one though:
Looks almost Martian in the dawn light
