Thumbs up Everyone Has Slowed Down!

Travelled on the M1 - M25 - M4 yesterday and NY Eve.

I noticed the traffic generally trundling along at about 65-80 ..... all moving quite nicely.

You, of course, get the dicks in their VW and Audi Tdi's but overall it was quite refreshing.

The roads were full of speeding motorists in the 70's and 80's ... nutters doing mental speeds in terrible conditions - that seems to have been stamped out mostly. Just the Audi and VW drivers to educate now

It was the same on the M3, I did about 40 miles, averaged about 75mph, It was really nice. Strange enough I had a passat TDI and an Audi A4 up the back of me at various points.
I pull over and laugh at them when they go past.

What is it with these TDi drivers???

Does TDi stand for something? Maybe Total Dick Injection?

Even Top Gear has picked up on it!!

Yesterday and NY eve you say!

Do you think this has much to do with alcohol or hangovers by any chance?

Is this really better?

driven in france recently?
pretty much no one speeds because of the speed traps everywhere that are hidden.

also think people have slowed down because of the cost of petrol/diesel. those tdi drivers probably have company cars with fuel cards so dont give a sh..

Again, something I have noticed with the young people of today - they do not, in general, drink and drive ......... I'm sad to say that in my day drinking and driving was a common event!

I got stuck doing stupid speeds on the M3 yesterday on the may back towards Basingstoke from Southampton due to idiots not wanting to over take a police car!!! when the car in front of me moved I went past it at 80 with no problem whatsoever, it pulled out behind me then to over take an idiot then pulled back into the slow lane, the gap between me and the rest of the traffic got bigger and bigger as no one wanted to overtake the plod. Are you all really that scared of the police even when they are driving deliberately below the speed limit???

This annoys me aswell. Just the other day, police sitting at about 68 mph. Nobody dares to go past. I go past at about 73 mph, look in my mirror and everyone and their dog follow on behind me

You should try hanging around the pubs a but more. It's still rife. I've seen groups of both males and females drinking bottles of vodka, wine premium lagers etc and then driving. They range from 18 years upwards

If the police paid £50 for every drink driver you report and they catch, I could take 11 months of the year off and live comfortably on one months wages

This drives me mental too!!!

The Police are aware of it and generally exit the Motorway to let the traffic flow once more.

I am sorely tempted to scream past at 130 though

I reckon you would find that they were just waiting for someone like you if you did that though.

Pushy mid to low level reps in their bloody A4's, Passat's etc, late for a curtain ring seminar because they had a few too many in the Travel-Inn the night before.
