Recommend Me A Restaurant For Tonight in Manchester
Gonna take the missus out for a bite to eat. Can anyone recommend me somewhere to go?
Were gonna be driving so drinking/wine lists not important
Maybe something a bit different and authentic. No chains/franchises (TGI etc)

Im no food expert, but I do like Chinese food.
I like the TaiPan in Liverpool.
The CathayGarden in Southport.
And the PanAsia in Manchesters China Town is the best buffet style Chinese Ive been to.
Stands back, and waits for experts to arrive and enlighten me.

Just got home from the city, its very busy tonight. Akbars was packed - even more so than normal.
We were doing a bit of shopping and TBH it was just too busy. I think there is a show on at the MEN too, which made things worse.
Have a look on Sugarvine.co.uk - loads of places have been rated on there.
Some of my faves inside the city.
PAU BRASIL RESTAURANT
shimla pinks manchester
wagamama | positive eating + positive living
Gaucho - The Finest Argentine Steaks - Restaurants in London and Manchester
The best curry after Shimla Pinks is the newly named Desi Lounge on the A62 near Oldham - was the Nawaab Oldham for the last 3 or 4 years.
This is owned by the former manager of the Nawaab manchester (now demolished and land sold for flats) and the food there is very very good. Or Mogul in Whitefield also very good - not to be confiesd with the Mogul Take Away (although they are owned by the same family) in Prestwich village.
There is also the Nawaab in Fallowfield but thats buffet only and alcohol is not allowed - the food is ok though but not really as good as the one on the A62.

Ok, went to Didsbury in the end. It was quite quiet too for a Friday night. Went to Samuk Thai House. I'd give it a 6/10, nothing special. The waiting staff were not too pleasant and the food was a nice but nothing special.
Should have gone to the Istanbul Grill just down the road in Didsbury, i'd recommend it to everyone

I went once taking some customers out,
£40 for wine, it came to over £550 for six of us, we sat upstairs in the organ bit,
if you do go get them to bring the meat out to you and have alook what you want and listen to how its best cooked.
