Seriously geeky:
A Microelectromechanical system (MEMS) gear train manufactured on silicon. The larger gear at center is about 80 microns wide.
Human hair is about 100 microns so you're talking about maybe 10 of those small gears in the width of a hair.

Hmmmmmmmm, so waht does that gear train actually DO?
For anyone who knows a little about gears or even basic mecahnics, the three or four equal sized gears seem to be a bit of a waste.

mind boggling in my opinion, i just can't grasp that things could be manufactured that small in the same way i can't grasp that the universe goes on and on and on.
