speed cameras and number plates
#1
After getting so Pi**£d off with all the cameras round my area i have come up with a cunning plan
Here in wet Blackpool,an average day can see upto 6 or 7 mobile camera vans operating. You know the ones ,small vans with cameras inside them facing traffic or tripod mounted ones again facing oncoming traffic.
Now what i am thinking of doing is completly removing my front number plateIf the coppers get me on their machine and take a picture,no number will showby the time ive gone past they wouldnt have time to move their van/or camera tripod!
How would this stand up in court????
Would it work??
i would rather pay a £XX fine for no numberplate rather than points.

Imagine you had a number plate that was snapped in two. One half fitted to the car and the other in the passenger footwell. When stopped you could inform the officer that somebody had just reversed into your car while it was parked and broke it. I believe you would be fined £20 for failing to display a number plate (no points on your license).
I am not condoning this sort of behaviour but this is what happened to a mate of mine with his m/bike.

Better still is a lump of mud half over ONE letter or number ... they NEED the WHOLE numberplate to do you see??
Its going to be a TOUGH magistrate that stings you more than £20 for a bit of mud over a number!! ....................... BUT they dont know it was YOU without a WHOLE number!! RESULT!!
I am NOT saying DO it, just Hyperthetical!!

Why don't you do what seems to be the most popular method .. and now much loved by police officers ....
just to claim that you don't know who was driving ... and to do so would breach your human rights

For 3 years i drove around with the wrong plates. My real reg was L133 WHG,but my plates said L133 WGH.No-one including me noticed,it was an MOT guy that spotted it.
I got new plates and 6 months later...speeding ticket from a camera

Cheers Guys, some very good ideas posted
But dont know about the mud one,a gleaming, recently polished Evo 4 with a big splodge of mud on the number plate"I Must Have missed a bit!!!"
As i already have a small plate on the front i might aswell take the thing off
F*%$ the money grabbing B"!%£"ds!!!!!!
Be prepared for another post along the lines of,"Court Summons for no number plate!!!"

LOL @ pslewis.....
By the way as well as the £1K fine I believe they can impound your vehicle until you've paid up AND you may have to put a Q-reg on your motor - which will cane the resale value
I was thinking of putting a small no. plate on the front of my car, but changed my mind when I heard this, it's not worth it.

have seen recently a few people driving round with reflective strip stuck between the digits of their plate - presumably to reflect any camera flash rendering the plate unreadable.
