Having just treated myself to a digital AV (home cinema) systems - wow - I wondered what 'big noise' films anyone has as favourites?

So far...

Star Wars 1
Ronin
Die Hard(s)
Fast and Furious
Gone in 60 Seconds
T2
Alien Collection
Matrix

Any other suggestions?

The opening battle scene from Gladiator (DTS) is my usual home cinema demo. The catapults hurling fireballs are awesome!

Andy.

Se7en DTS-ES...stunning rain.

And I second The Haunting R1 DTS-ES...the bass in that one...ouch...

Let's see...Face/Off...Armageddon, Gone in 60...hell anything with Bruckheimer...

Enemy behind the gates...when the bombers fly over...

Thumbs up

Another vote for Private Ryan.
Turn off the lights and turn up the volume and then s**t yourself for the first 30 mins and thank god you weren't there.
Got to be the most haunting beginning to a film ever.

Cool

Don't know about DTS but Predator was the first film I watched with a subwoofer in the room, this was back in 91 (those were the days ). That scene when they offload all their firepower into the forest I will never forget!

Final Fantasy, the most bass I've heard on a sound track ever!!
Had my front door rattling for the first time.

Wink

No one's mentioned Blade.

The underground club scene, including the bit where he sends the double-sided knife around the walls to get the bad-*** vamps!

Saving Private Ryan...the beach bit at the start and the bit when they're in the church and you can hear (feel) the explosions in the distance.

Gladiator...the start where he's walking through the field and then the bittle scene and the bit when they first enter the collosium. :cool

Mike
