Default Recommend me some new i-pod headphones

What are people buying, I've gone off "in ear" earphones and want something that can handle the bass and treble fit comfortably on the ear with cushioning but have the ability not to disturb other people too much, something like the Sennheiser HD25 sp

I'd like to hear what other have to say about theirs before I go testing

Cheers

Other half has the Grado SR60s. They always win the awards for best iPod headphones. Look fugly and very retro but the sound is awesome. They have a newer set out called the iGrado (which are also cheaper) and they won best sub-£50 headphones in this year's What HiFi? awards that came out yesterday. Don't know what they sound like.

I have the HD25, they're terrific headphones, especially if you're in a crowded environment. They do a superb job of blocking out external noise, and noise doesn't leak out either so you're not going to annoy people.

Sound-wise they're not the most transparent cans you'll ever find, but they do have great extension particularly in the bass.

Now I have my own office I've switched to the HD650, which is open-backed, but I still use the HD25 at home and I'm constantly surprised at how good they are. Excellent value IMHO

I was going to get Grado for PC gaming but I was told they don't keep out outside noise well and the gaming PC is in the front room at our place so I the TV would distract me.

I bought Sennheiser HD555

Thanks for the comments guys

I think we'd all like a pair of Bose

Read lots of reviews on the HD25's and HD555's, all good stuff, I think I will be taking a listen to these two.

Edd I have read a few reviews which say the noise leak on these is very low, can you confirm as I'd rather have these so I can use with the AV systems at home as well as the pod, but I'm still courteous enough not wanting to pee anyone off on a plane, Oh and they're only £50 on Amazon, bargain !

Cheers

I had the same problem in choosing headphones two years ago. In the end I when for the Sennheiser PX 100. They were £40 from apple. They are really nice, comfortable and give bass and sound crisp.

Koss PortaPro - High Quality Sound Stereophone: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

funkii, i just saw your bit about not disturbing others... these headphones are a bit loud externally, but hey, just turn it down a wee bit and they are great!!
