Seen about 20 mins so far which I enjoyed. More interesting than I thought it would be. I am wondering if they have an early clips of the Negro days down south. You know Blind ***** Henry with 2 teeth and 2 strings playing some old cotton pickin' blues number. Will see the rest later if I can get a pass from gardening duties dl

Anyone see the Jeff Beck clip on the Jools Holland best of?
He's quite good isn't he?
He could make a career out if guitaring if he wanted to I reckon.

That's what I thought. Much better than I was expecting (hence the post). Interesting that Bert Weedon is still among us.
Looking forward to the other two parts now.
Oh yea - and BTW I saw that there is a 1 hour programme about Les Paul on sometime in the next week (BBC4 I think). That'll be interesting.

I watched it last night. I started off reading the paper while it was on, then got totally sucked in. My brother is a guitarist and used to make them for a while. It was excellent!

Top stuff, can't believe it was over so quickly. The editing made a nonsense of the chronology of development though, I thought.
I loved the juxstaposion of Mark Knopfler's reverence of the 1958/9 Les Paul with the tongue-in-cheek one of Nigel Tufnel (Spinal Tap). I bet Knopfler feels a bit embarrassed now, if he's watched it.
