parking fine help ( it was not me )
I have just recieved a parking fine today saying that i was parked on a zebra crossing last monday night in north london.
They have a reg number and have attached a small picture of a car cant clearly see its mine. I was at home at that time so it cant of been me.
Whats should i do now ? should i contact the police just incase some one else is using my number plates ?
Any help would be good
Thanks

Does anyone know if the cops or others check the tax disc in these situations?
If the rogue car didn't have a disc or it was a different date from yours then that would seem like clear evidence that there is a clone aound or they have misread the number plate.
I had this years ago and wrote in saying I was sound asleep at the time but I did live miles away which helped.

If it is 'possible' that you 'could' be the correct person then you will need massive evidence that it wasn't ...... as said above, living 500 miles away would help a lot.
Or you could wheel someone into court to say you were with them - if you really were. Don't try it if you need to fabricate anything as that is contempt and a serious offence ..... which will make the parking fine look like chicken feed.
Ask for the photo to be blown up so you can see any marks/stickers etc. which may prove it was yours .... or not.
They get the old, "It wasn't me" every day of the week .... "My car has been cloned" is also spouted every day.
Contact the Police if it has been cloned, but - for heavens sake - don't get done for wasting Police time if you have any doubt!

If you've done nothing wrong you have nothing to fear. The ticket will describe the due process for contesting the fine.
One or other of the above statements may not be entirely true.

Not true , you can make a plea in court that the car wasn't yours and you were not the owner of the car .I did this 8 months ago when it happened to me .They just take you into an office ,they give you a script saying to the best of my knoledge blah blah blah ,sign a piece of paper and sorted .
