He's not driving one of the massive ones though, which is a shame. I'd love to have seen one of the actual Monsters in action.

May is rubbish - shame, as a more animated presenter (with better research) could have made a really interesting programme.

Ah well.

In the words of Captain Slow last night: "excellent", "that's excellent", "excellent", "that's just excellent", "excellent".....

I won't bother watching the robots show next week, although I'm sure they will all be "excellent".

"For sure" as any F1 driver would tell you

I like James May, I find him easy to listen to, not quite Raymond Baxter but ok.

I quite like James May. Animated he is not, but he has a gentle, lilting voice that imparts information very well.

Yes, agreed.

Presenters do not need to be animated to be interesting and enjoyable to watch.

I enjoyed it and, rather surprisingly, so did MrsREV. I totally disagree with the comments about May being rubbish.

I enjoyed it, but the proposition of the programme was to attempt to find a more efficient way of getting from A-B than relying on the car with its associated congestion.

The Ekranoplan is noisy, uneconomical, would be dangerous in numbers, and has no obvious advantages over the car. The authorities won't let me do 100mph in a capable car, why would they let me do 250mph in something with no brakes It's major advantage is stealth, which as yet is not high on the list of criteria used to select a commuting machine.

It felt to me as though they set out to make a show and ended up making something completely different.
