Finally bought a plasma :)
Since I'm moving back in with my parents before I buy a house next year I've decided that it's about time I bought a new tele. My Panasonic 32" Quintrix has performed flawlessly over the last 9 years but since I now have a few HD sources and will have Sky HD when I buy I figured the time was right so...
I bought this beauty from John Lewis on Sunday for £799.
Panasonic Viera TH42PZ80B
Panasonic - ideas for life - Overview
Should arrive in a couple of weeks
Has anyone else got one of these and if so how are you finding it?

I bought the TH42PZ70 last xmas which is the model that yours replaced and its been fautless so far with a stunning picture, it was my first plasma and i`m very happy with it. I also bought mine from John Lewis and the 5 year warranty is great piece of mind, plasma tv`s have become very affordable these days and Panasonic is a great name in that world.

Warranty? The Sales of Goods Act provides 'cover' for six years. Speak to a solicitor (free with your house insurance): see where you stand, then sort it out.

Top choice! My girlF's got the same one and the picture quality is so crisp. I've even left my xbox 360 at her house
She got it a little cheaper though from Play.com

I went out and bought a 42" Samsung about 3 months ago. I was very tempted to buy even bigger, but it would have looked a bit OTT for the size of our living room. We didn't want too much strain on our eyes either. I couldn't wait for home delivery. I had to bring it home there and then, I was so impressed with the picture quality!
Cool stuff these plasmas are

I used to sit outside at the patio table using the Wi-Fi connection to the 'net to talk on MSN but then it got to cold once the nights started drawing in.
Then it started raining.
And I refuse to take my duvet outside in the rain

I've just bought one of these myself. Got it last Friday and am really pleased with it so far!
I'm sure you'll be very happy with it. The PS3 is soooooo much better on this than my old box.

Mine did it within the warranty period, but the engineer said Panasonic normally honour repairs outside of the warranty period, or at the very least make a goodwill gesture

I have a 42" Viera too, have had it since November last year and never had any issues with it, it's a great tv
I spent weeks looking online at various models in my price range before deciding on the Viera. I eventually bought mine in Comet in Shirley after working at the NEC bike show. I saved myself £200 on the TV itself by buying it there and bringing it back in the truck compared to buying here at home, I also got a free Panasonic HD DVD recorder/freeview box and a free stand (cant wall mount in my house), I also managed to blag gold plated HDMI cables and gold plated audio cables that I needed

i think my 42" samsung looks small nowadays
you get used to the size in a few weeks to be honest, i wish i had of bought a 50"`er
i do love sitting down and watching a good quality upscaled, or proper hd film on it, watched "30 days of night" 2 nights back, upscaled, lights off, surround sound on, reclining leather sofa in "slob mode" and a about 10 beers, (which i skillfully managed to time for replacement whenever the missus got up to change hers) , why oh why do people still use the cinema ?

I would have loved to go bigger too but my living room is not big enough for a larger screen, my wife wanted a 37" as she thought the 42" would have been too big for the room but I over ruled her on that one
