the 'two second rule'...
i know it counts when you drop food on the floor but does it count when flies land on your food?

I thought the moment a fly ate anything it crapped at the same time due to having a tiny digestive system
So, if it had time for a super quick nibble of your food, it may have left a tiny little kibble of poo on it too
Im probably wong tho, so take no notice of me

it has to stick its long thing in first and then it chews your foot then spits it out, surely it cant do this in 2 seconds

Most common flies vomit up their stomach contents, which helps dissolve things, then they suck it back up. I believe that's is what they call "fly blows".
I think we are too obsessed about hyper cleanliness. I seem to remember reading something about how country children have less allergies than city kids, as their immune systems actually have been exposed to "nasties" so it's less likely to react to innocuous stuff like peanuts.
My parents always said stuff like, "Waste not want not, pick it up and eat it" or "Good clean dirt never hurt anyone"

They used to keep meat in a perforated zinc safe so that the air could circulate before refrigerators, and scrape the fly eggs off before cooking it!

It basically lands, boaks and then sucks up the boak. After 2 seconds you are eating fly boak

The 2 second (or more commonly 5 second) rule was disproved by Mythbusters. Transfer of bacteria depends on the type of surfaces that are in contact and can be instantaneous.

Theres me thinking the "two second rule" had something to do with keeping a safe distance from the car in front!!!

but seriously, only a person with no common sense would believe anything like 'a 2 second rule' when it comes to food....

I thought the 2 second rule is when someone gets off their seat for 2 seconds and then the seat can be taken ;-)

You will find in most commercial kitchens they leave food sitting out for Mr fly to come along and crap/boak/spunk/spit or whatever else he may choose to do and its not like you go home everytime with a dicky stomach.
