Meetings with cakes
I've just come out of a 3 hour meeting where rather than the usual crap sandwiches and quiche slices, there were a mountain of cakes. Cream slices, danishes, donuts, muffins - you name it.
I stuffed my face all the way through the meeting.
It made the whole experience more enjoyable.

One 3 hour cake session isn't to turn me into a bloater any more than a night on the **** followed by a curry is.
I did drink coffee in between so it was a health balance.

Had a consultancy meeting with a local authority a few weeks ago. A number of departments were attending but hosts were not allowed to order any lunch for us. Our host ended up making home made cookies for us all.

This thread needs an illustration
Which one would you pick? I'd be hard pushed to choose between the Mille-Feuille, coffee eclair or the green thingy in the middle. I'd probably opt for the green thingy because I think I can detect a trace of marzipan in it. Yum
However in reality I couldn't eat any of them because they'd make me fat

I don't know the technical terms, I just seperate them into great cakes, nice cakes and ok cakes. (obviously ther ei sno such thing as a bad cake).
But I agree, filo pastry, goo and bakewell stylee is a recipe for a great cake.
