Fuel protest website.

Fuel protest website.
Remember a little while ago i posted an idea of creating a database of people who would be interested in taking part in a fuel protest in their area by way of a forum/database.
Well, ive gone and made one. Its in its VERY early stages at the moment, but with some effort im sure this can work.
All it takes is 5 minutes to register and your email will be stored for future communication. You will then be emailed a date, in advance of a protest in your county. Simple eh?
Imagine if we get 10,000's of people registering from John O'Groats to Lands End and all acted on the same day. This can happen with communication.
Obviously, if people think this wont work, then it wont.
Please spare 5mins and register your support at:-

If we all actually do something about this, then they will have to listen. After all, they DO want to stay in power, and this topic will be an election issue.

Trouble is 'they' can't - the UK does not control the world oil prices and that is the problem here. Yes, tax is an issue, but seeing as oil is set to carry on rising price wise even if they did reduce the tax it would be a short term gain only.

IMO, the oil price isnt the issue, the fuel duty and VAT are controllable by this government.
For eg, if you drive 12,000 miles a year, in a car that does 30mpg, you pay:-
£2162 every year in total, of which:-
£915 is Duty
£322 is VAT
TOTAL = £1237 in TAX

Meaning that the tax difference is £65 per year between now and then so effectively you are protesting over £65 p.a. yes? If not then why weren't you asll protesting 6 months ago?
Just a thought.

6 months ago?! Ive been taking part in fuel protests for YEARS!
The only difference now is, the way these fuel protests are going to be organised.
Ok, i'll give you an example, theres a fuel protest in Manchester on the 19th July and another one in Oxford on the same day. Imagine if EVERY county in the UK had a similar well advertised protest on the same day.
The only way to organise something like this is through communication, hence:-

However, we need people registered on the forum/database before any large scale protests can be organised.
