Angry So Annoying!

Bought a secondhand Kenwood Car Audio Unit last night.

Wired it into the Mazda - easy enough ..... apart from the bloody aerial lead - WHY are they ALLWAYS about 100mm too short from the ideal

This unit has the aerial socket on the opposite side to the unit I have removed ....... can't fit it

On every car I have ever had (lots!) - I have always struggled with the length of this lead ...... it's PATHETIC.

Rant over - thanks for listening

personally I've never had a problem with it being too short, perhaps it's just you!

You should maybe look at getting an extension?

Just buy an extension lead, they cost peanuts, there then wouldn't be another 'moan' thread.

pull it hard. (steady now!) the aerial lead is often taped up with the re of the wiring loom, so hauling on it pretty hard often gives you enough slack.

I did give it a good old tug ..... I think it is stuck fast under the carpet under the central console

I reckon only 1 inch would do it!

That will be about 4 inches in real measurements then Pete.

There are aerial extensions available, that should sort it easily enough.

They are available .... but tend to be a couple of metres long! Not good for a clear reception! All I want is an extra 2 inches (how many times has that plea been heard throughout the ages?)

a good quality extension will give no loss in quality. Think you can get them about 30cms long
