For those who think politicians have 'our' interests at heart ...
... I see more evidence that they're just money grabbing bar stewards. See BBC NEWS | UK | Council motoring fines 'illegal'
and the bit: "Nick Lester from London Councils, which represents authorities in the capital, argued that handing the cash back was not necessarily in the public interest.
He said: "Where there's only a technical error, a small issue, where no-one was genuinely misled, the council can take the view, is it really a good use of public money to repay the penalty?
"Is that really what they should be doing?" ".
Well, yes actually! As the money was taken illegally from motorists you should pat it back! What planet do these people live on???????

Yep, it's astounding the attitudes they have.
I'm sure if there was a clerical error and I wasn't charged
for a months council tax they'd be straight on to me asking
for the money. Bleeding agrivating but not so surprising I'm
afraid.

But maybe there is some justice ... Labour cash crisis could bankrupt party leaders | Politics | The Guardian
"Senior officials in the Labour party, including Gordon Brown, could become personally liable for millions of pounds in debt unless new donors can be found within weeks, the Guardian has learned"
Oooooooo ... happy days maybe ......
