Question Best way of changing £ into €? Not tourist rates

My parents want to change over a few thousand sterling into Euros, what's the best exchange rate they can get? I thought I saw a thread a little while back but can't locate it. Someone recommended a few companies that managed to do a lot better than the standard tourist rate.

I've had a look at that one. They only wish to change over £2.5k at the moment, minimum for a single transaction seems to be £10k with AFEX?

I have a Citibank current account. It is split into two accounts, one in US dollars and one in Sterling, and I'm free to tranfer money between them. They do the same for Euros. The rate is pretty much the rate that's being traded at the time, so you don't lose out like you would going to the post office etc.

I don't know whether you'd want to go to the hassle of opening an account with them just to do this though.

£10k is the usual minimum. The HSBC give virtually as good as money market rates on telegraphic transfers, so perhaps a Euro account would be the answer?
