Question Why Do Plasma Wall Brackets Vary So Much In Price??

How do,

I'm trying to find the best wall bracket for my new plasma that I want to wall mount.

The more I look into it, the more confused I get. I thought they were all pretty much the same, and on the face of it they are.

But the prices range from £60 to £200 and I can see no difference.

I know they are some that swival, tilt and some anti theft fixing, but really for the most part its a bit of metal with a couple of holes in which we use to bolt it to the wall.

That being the case, am I missing something??

Why are some £60 and others £200+?? It can't be down to a name can it?? Or are some made of gold and others tin foil??

If it is upto 50" and you dont want it to pivot etc then get yourself an EasyBig they are about £60 and very good, i use them all the time on installations.

Same here, got one from Amazon Marketplace for about £20 for my 42"... it's still on the wall now!

So why anyone will pay any more than that I really don't know!

I bought one for my 47" but in the end didnt bother, its a generic make.

Think I paid £70 + delivery for it. If you want it you can have it for £50 inc delivery or £40 collection.

Pretty sure it swivels and tilts a little bit.

PM me if you want any more details or it will end up in the boot of my car forever!

The only thing I found, as today's purchase was my second one, was that the tilting ones bring the TV off the wall too far for my liking, I bolted it to the TV whilst still on its stand and it will protrude too far off. I bought a non tilt ultra slim one today and it will look far better IMO.

if you want a true reason why they differ in price so much, you need to goto ebay: and search for damaged plasmas lol

We paid £280 for our bracket.(John Lewis)

It tilts and swivels and pulls back and forward so gives us a large scope for adjusting viewing angle (useful at Xmas when the out-laws want to watch the Queens speech etc)

PANASONIC VIERA PLASMA WALL BRACKET on eBay, also, Wall Mounts Brackets, TV Accessories, Consumer Electronics (end time 02-May-08 16:43:48 BST)

I was thinking of getting the above item. I don't want a all singing all dancing, bracket, just one thats close to the wall, and want bend in time.

If you want the best quality and durability wise then Unicol - Home Page

re plasmas etc being damaged/coming off of the walls - this is not all down to the brackets, more oftern poor fitting fixing to the screen and to the walls themselves.

use the correct length bolts from bracket to tv and also fix to the wall correct using the right fixings. If stud wall then attach it to the stud upright(s).

If the bracket is designed to move away from the wall remember the stresses and strains being imposed of the anchor points/fixings to the wall as well
