Question Does size matter...plasma question

Looking to buy a new plasma as the removal firm busted our last one.

I have the dilemna now of either going for a new 1920 full HD 42" or a 1378 [?] 50".

Should I go for the larger screen and sacrifice quality or go for the quality.

The versions I had in mind are both Panasonic Viera

Roo

PS I now live in Queensland so the deals are different.

Can you not ask Paul Robinson ?

1080p or 720p you mean ? What is the price difference between the two & what models are they ?

The samller you go, the less you will notice the difference between 1080p and 720p - if you went down to, say, 32", you would have to virtually sit inches away from the screen to tell the difference.

You can *just* tell the difference at 42" - At 50" it becomes more noticeable.(assuming a sort of standard 8-10foot distance away from the tv).

Out of the two I would go for the 42" 1080p - But obviously I would see both sets in action before makign a final decision.

Get the 42" with the better quality.

50" is just a chavtastic way of showing off imo. Unless you have a massive living room.

Size matters when it comes to the space you are installing the tv in also.
I guess you have a big room!
My kitchen diner would comfortably swallow a 42" but it would look rediculous in my sitting room.

Can't you wait a little while and then buy the full HD 50"? Prices are dropping every day. If you have the right size room, 50" is not too big or chavvy. My viewing distance is about 17 feet and 50" looks big for the first few weeks and now it looks just ok, could easily have a 65"!

Models are:

50" TH-50PX70A [$2,800]

My "sitting" room is 5.5m x 3.2m & its only used for viewing TV / Films & i reckon my 50PZ70 is far too small. Next plan is PJ & Screen to cover the wall

Far from chavtastic just personal taste. I reckon people use the chav saying when they are just jealous

I ordered and payed for a 50" Pioneer, but change it before it was delivered and installed for me to a 42".

That was the week after paying cash for a £26k L200.

But I agree on the personal taste bit.

Not at all. You started the insults stating that anyone with a bigger tv than 42" was a chav ? That probably insulted a fair majority of the users on this board.
I disagreed with your point & according to you i need to get a life. Now i am a keyboard warrior ? I gather you arent familiar with the term "reasoned debate" ? or understand what forums are all about ?
Oh & for the record i am a big man, a few people on this forum have met me & can substansiate my claim You like to shout out that you bought an L200 for 26k cash Theres one born every minute

I went to Brisbane for the weekend about 3 weeks ago! What's the score with restaurants then? By 9pm on the Saturday night, most were closing on South Bank?

We ended up going up Mount Coot-tha. Which was great!!

Great city btw.

It something to do with the fact that they don't subscribe to the fact that daylight saving is actually a good idea. Most days start at around 5 in the morning, especially during summer when it gets light at 3.30 to 4 in the morning [and its still about 28 degrees ].

I live in a subburb about 20kms north of the CBD and it's poles away. Leafy, parks and loads of stuff for the kids. Great place but run by idioits so not to dissimilar to the UK.

Roo

Anyway back to the subject of the TV. Size or quality what's the answer
