Running nose & Blocked Sinuses
I have had the above for a while now & cant shift it. Tried the nasal stuff from boots & it clears up for an hour or so then goes again.
Does anyone have any ideas or any remedies that i can try ?
Thanks

I used to suffer with that a lot when I was flying. It was very troublesome and painful and it always got worse when the rape fields were in bloom. They are a good bit earlier this year and you may be susceptible to the pollen as many people are in the case of rape seed fields.
I found like you that Vick inhalers used to help for a short time. Like me you will have to hope that it will go away when the yellow flowers have died off eventually.

The OP lives in Scotland. Its still winter up here
Stephen,
It could be a cold virus, irritarion due to changeable weather or, possibly, an allergy.
Best thing to do is to rest, as per Dr Tam.
Boots own nasal spray pretty good, sinutab works for some. If not GP can prescribe drops.
Be wary though, the more you use the sprays, the worse it gets when the effect wear of - bit of a viscious circle - so use the sprays sparingly.

I was speaking to someone earlier & they reckon i need them "flushed" ? I am off for a few days at the start of May so will make an appointment with the Doctor for then.
Thing is last week it totally cleared, the best it had been for months & now its back along with a slight cough as bad as ever.
Dr Tam, i have a business to run , the amount of sickness calls i had this morning was unbelievable .........................

I suffer all year round. I'm on Citirizine Hydrochloride. Have to take a tablet every day. Sometimes twice a day.
I'm not sure what I'm alergic to, as It never seems to change, so I think it might be dust.
Sneezing fits at any time of the day. Really annoying if it starts just as I'm about to go to bed.
Before I started taking these tablets, I'd be blowing my nose every 5 minutes all day. My nose would be red raw. It only started about 7 years ago.

Even in the central belt the air is pretty good.
But better in the highlands
Les (ignoring the comics above for a moment ), yes we do, but its generally a bit later up here.
Paul, I must correct you. Its all Stella these days so only one pint required

I've just had my sixth session of acupuncture today for sinus problems. It has really made a huge difference!
As for rhinitis (it's like hay fever but all year round) it's also good for that. I used to have it really bad until about 8 years ago when I tried acupuncture for it. I hardly get it at all now, just very occasionally. You need to get to the Doc's for a proper nasal spray..........don't use the over the counter ones on a permanent basis.

try boiling up a couple of onions in water. can't remember how long you boil them for but I'm sure google will know.
drink the juice (once its cooled a little) - its always worked for me, although i appreciate it sounds pretty foul!
