Default Buckmore park Go Karts (Kent)

Do any scoobynet regulars go Karting at Buckmore park (Kent)?

I've just started going over the last month - there was a darkside-mobile in the car park, but mine was the only scoob i saw.

I go quite regularly. Fastest lap time on a thunder kart was 46.8, just .0.6 off the lap record! Pro-Kart was around 48s.

Got me some vouchers for chrimbo that I have yet to use. Maybe we should organize a scoobynet race!

woah chris, that's fast! i've got a long way to go yet then- i've only been the twice so far- once in the snow on easter sunday, and then in my first session in the dry got a few late 55, early 56's in a pro - in my defense there were some very slow karts on the track which i had to lap 4 times.

I think the big right hander at the bottom of the hill was killing me, i think i could gain a fair bit in the two hairpins, but that still leaves a good couple of seconds to find- any top tips?

i'd be up for a session though!

Use the kerbs! Hurts like hell when you really hit one, but, it's the only way to get a good time. The corner at the bottom of the track is tricky. I usually just dabs the brakes a little when going through the left hander before. This kills the understeer allowing you to bring the kart all the way over the left before taking the right hander. Same applies for the first corner, just a very light dab of the brakes whilst still on full throttle.

I think the new karts have a swival bar connecting the brake and gas pedal, meaning you can't use both pedals together. This just means you have to be a bit quicker switching between the two.

I was lucky enough to follow a professional many years ago. After following him for a 30 min session, I found an extra 2 seconds a lap!

cheers- next sessions going to be a killer then- i've still got a big bruise on my hip from friday, and i barely touched the kerbs.

i need to get to a session with some good drivers in, i was easily the fastest of the lot i was driving against so i couldn't copy anyone else's lines

Well like I say, I have a £50 voucher burning a hole in my back pocket. If you wanted to meet up there one evening, just let me know.

Cool

ESC do like a Karting event. We just had a 25 kart endurance race last Saturday but I'm sure if a date can be arranged the ESC will be happy to show you Kent boys & girls how to drive lol

LOL sounds like a challenge worth taking up. Do they maybe do a discount for a large group booking?

I've just started a thread on the ESC HERE
As some of you may know Nate & I are raising money for Diabetes UK in August and would like to use this event to raise some extra funds towards our goal of £2000.

I've already spoken to both Bayford and Buckmore and they dont want to budge much on the price as this is their busiest period. Dates TBC will most likely be in July and will be confirmed shortly.

The format will be teams of two and 1hr endurance race. So, both drivers will get 30mins driving time each.

If you're up for the challenge get your names down quick as this is sure to be popular

Cool

The only date Buckmore have this side of August for us is Sunday 13th July. This is due to a cancellation. Apparently this is their busiest part of the year.

The cost is £62:50 per person all in. Teams will be decided on the day by being pulled from the hat. One heavy person and one light person to even things up

Deposits of £25 per person are required and are Non Refundable. If you wish to join in please go to here and get your name down. Please PM me if you cannot attend one of our meets to pay your deposit.
