Was talking to a mate recently who has married a girl he met through the internet. He was quite open about it all and claimed everyone is doing it. So ... how many scoobynetters have ever been speed dating, and how was it for you? I'm guessing you get some real barrel scrapings!

Internet and speed dating are two different things?

I have met some girls from the internet many, many years ago when the people who generally used it (and especially girls) were quite 'special' in lots of ways.

Quite a few stories, but two that stick out:

Firstly a young girl (18 or so) in London who was actually quite pretty. We started talking about life as you do and then she started going off about how she hated her parents and wanted to kill them. Fair enough, I thought it was a joke and played a long. But she carried on and on and started asking if I would help her.

Then a slightly older person (mid-20's?) whilst I was working in California. She was really nice, we had a great time and she invited me back to her house afterwards. Off I went, things got more interesting and then she asked me to follow her down the stairs to the basement. Oh my surprise to see a fully feldged dungeon with a cross and chains and various implements.

So, all in all, jolly good fun

my wifes mate is fantasatically ugly and talks so fast you canot understand her, she meets these blokes on blind dates via the internet and three so far have had a call to shoot off somewhere during her date,

she is not even pretty enough to enter the miss harrogoat (that was deliberate btw)

If I was single now I'd probably be quite tempted by speed dating, at least if someone's ugly, boring or whatever, you only have about 3 minutes before moving on.
