Human Rights Act has to go
Northern Rock shareholders prepare legal challenge for violation of human rights - Times Online
I only have to hear the words 'Human Rights Act ' to go tense. This is totally ridiculous and sums it up for me
Ditch this Act now (and sod those shareholders)

The Humans Rights acts is good and proper. People trying to abuse it aren't.
It's not going to go anywhere, you can;t blame peopel for trying any avenue to try and get some money back, but the fact is, that when you buy shares, you take the risk.
I am sure they wouldn't be using the humans rights act to insist on paying more tax had they made an absolutel fortune on those same shares.

I seem to remember that the Human rights act was the best thing ever invented when it looked like it might mean speed cameras were made illegal.

Tell who was driving, if you dont, we will prosecute you.
Tell who was driving, if you do, we will prosecute you.
That erodes your right to silence. Just wait, this case will be used in the years to come to compel people to confess for all sorts of made up offences.

chances are i will vote for the first party to stand up and say they will tear it up or take a much more robust approach!
A country such as the UK should not have any need for it. Common sense is what is required
interesting discussion on R5 live yesterday with David Davies, he was saying that many other countries such as Italy and France, whilst signed up to it pretty much do as they please and that we could take a leaf or two out of thier books, Italy just deported some 1000 eastern european criminals who had commited crimes in Italy - even though they claimed they would be mistreaded when returned.
would be good to see some of the same tactics used here it would send the right message to thise who would use and abuse the system!
P.S. sorry it is a bit off topic

From a Police point of view, the Human Rights Act is b*llocks! It just serves to protect the criminal and make the job of the Police near enough impossible!
Why do you think America never joined it?!!! Its one thing they got right!
