Sat Nav recommendations with Traffic??
Any recommendations for Sat Nav with traffic?? Been looking at TomTom, but the seem to need you to interface traffic via your mobile.
I have a company mobile, so its not particually flexible. I want traffic info without using my mobile phone! any ideas?
I also want europe and safety cameras!!
Cheers,
Matt.

I have a Garmin 370. Everything you need plus USA. Only 3.5 inch but you can get the 7xx series with a bigger screen. Safety camera updates are on the web in a very sleak online sync.
Only downside is the volume is not very high for a convertible !!!

I've got a TomTom with an RDS TMC receiver - but to be honest, its not exactly mega-useful as a service (I kinda expected a lot more anyhow - it would be nice if it automatically routed you dependent on the speed traffic was moving on various routes and the like.. but maybe thats me being unrealistic); the Traffic plus service is probably more useful; certainly seems to give more data than the TMC dongle.

if accurate traffic info is key - look at the smartnav. comes with its own sim built in so wont touch your mobile.
Satellite Navigation and In Car Sat Nav from Smartnav
All the processing is done centrally and includes up-to-date traffic master traffic info and then downloaded. You can speak to an operator to find your destination. Auto re-route if it changes etc.
Had it in a car we bought recently (2nd hand). and used it for the 1 month free trial. Then had it removed 'cos we already had a tom-tom.

This week or next week Aldi are having the Medion sat nav unit with live traffic by Trafficmaster I believe *free for life* for a grand total of £119.
I think the Medion kit often gets good reviews too.
Here you go: ALDI - Thursday Special Buys 13th March 2008
