Porsche launch website to force judicial review against congestion charge
A nicely presented site, that makes several key points.
If you want your voice to be heard, don't miss this opportunity. Don't think for one second that just because you are out of London that this will not come to a place near you. I don't live in London, and I believe this should be fought every step of the way.
Welcome

Porsche make alot of sense and 90% of people with common sense will agree with them. But i seriously doubt that it will make any difference whatsoever as the same 90% of people will know that it useless to vote against or oppose anything that the government try to do. So how many people of those 90% will spend their time to back Porsche GB ? Not many i suppose.
On the other hand, we have lots of people with no common sense and nothing else to do in life so they will oppose Porsche GB and they will write letters to Ken and say how great he is and back him up; and Ken will use those people and quote them and do consultations with them to prove his point.

I doubt KL will listen, but as a nation we tend to just take this sort of stuff on the chin. A petition is hardly the civil uprising you'd get in France, but I guess it's a start.

I think the point of the petition is to force a Judicial review. Yes, they are going to deliver a petition to Ken Livingston, but the petition is really just going to give them more ammunition for the Judicial review

Bu99er. Just cancelled the new Cayenne and the Mayfair Penthouse. Filing for bankruptcy
Seriously, I think a protest like this coming from Porsche will do more harm than good. Their self-interest is blatant and will likely create resentment from less well-off motorists. It needs to be led by the AA or RAC - preferably both.
Richard.

Sent them an e-mail of support (well if a full bore rant against Red Ken)
Got this response - a circular but even so.
'Dear Mr Rea
Porsche Congestion Charge Tax Increase Challenge
Thank you for recently contacting Porsche regarding the Mayor of London’s
plans to introduce a daily £25 congestion charge fee for cars emitting more
than 225g/km of CO2 (Vehicle Excise Duty Band G).
Your message of support is very much appreciated. The announcement of our
action has generated a tremendously positive response from Porsche owners,
concerned motorists and the public at large. This is very encouraging.
Porsche feels strongly that we should be standing up for the interests of
our customers. If you would like to further support the action we are
taking, we urge you to visit our website www.porschejudicialreview.co.uk to
sign our online petition.
If you would like any further information, please visit the website or call
08457 911 911.
Yours sincerely

BBC NEWS | UK | England | London | Mayor to fight Porsche challenge
"In opposition to this, environmental campaign groups Friends of the Earth, Greenpeace and the Alliance Against Urban 4x4s have also launched a joint online petition."
A spokesman for the mayor said: "Porsche's claim that it is illegal for the mayor to introduce this policy is wrong.
"The Greater London Authority Act 1999 gives the mayor the power to do this.

Well duh...
