Good on him. If he wasn't speeding then why should he have just given in. Too often people just roll over and pay up. Well done that man

Just shows the belligerence of the scamera partnerships, even when presented with overwhelming evidence of being wrong, they blindly refuse to accept the truth. its this "we are the scamera partnership, and if WE say you were speeding then you were"

vote me into office, and they,ll be on the old king at 00:01 on my first day

They have good reason to act like they do; As otherwise they'd have to admit their detections system are flawed and therefore the evidence provided by them would no longer be considered irrefutable and accurate to the nth degree.

A few more winning cases like this could turn the whole system on its head (or at least, the technology used for detection).

Just to make sure that every scammers gets covered with the same brush stroke. All scammers are all lying, cheating, thieving scumbags, never ever trust what they say or do.

An unbelieveable story, and amazing the level of deliberate deception undertaken to ensure a prosecution and safe guard money from the prosections.

Also i was unaware how lacking in knowledge of the law magistrates appear to be.

Quote"Both cases are estimated to have cost the taxpayer a total of at least £25,000.

Essex Police and the Essex Safety Camera Partnership refused to comment on the matter. "

--------------------------------------------------

I wonder who will ultimately foot the bill?!?

Essex Police should be ashamed of themselves
and should have better things to do. the time effort and money could be better spent!

It's the CPS that push the issue, not the police.

They (CPS) work on a whole different level to the police. Police get the evidence, pass it to the CPS and they are in control of it all from there on in.

Of course, you are correct. In which case the cps should be ashamed...

What a waste of money with so many court cases.

I think once you appeal a sentence, they should drop the case to save money

The wouldn't people cotton on and then appeal all cases?

Surely the cps where lazy and incompetant in the procecution of both cases and should learn from this. i somehow do doubt anyone will be held responsible or accountable and it will be business as usual for the cps.

Indeed.

If an appeal meant getting off, then the system would collapse, surely. Besides, the vast majority of cases that reach court are found in favour of the crown. The CPS discontinue if they think they will lose, anyway.

Well, we have all heard the old saying. If at first you don't succeed, try, try and try again.

I think the issue here is that whoever was in charge of these cases heard that from a stuck CD...its not meant to be 24 tries before you give up!!

The bit that got me was at the end of the Humberside scp one, where they scammers LOST and asked that costs should NOT come from THEIR funds, but from "public funds".............and the judge agreed.

So they can continue to do as they please and STILL keep the money

Long live the Labour Government.

The annoying thing is (for me) is that the police as a whole get the blame, when they only pass what they find over to the bodies that get the cash and crucify people.

Had similar trouble myself of late - but won via public appeal forum.

I see that it would annoy a serving officer, BUT, in Humberside, the Police are one of the members of the so-called Safety Camera PARTNERSHIP, and are benifitting from the scam

Nope, this a modern day equivalent of government sponsored "stand and deliver", and while the police, courts and councils are supporting it they CANNOT distance themselves and say "we are only obeying orders". Especially while THEY are banking the funds so generated.

Sorry.

We have history, but he knows I love him lol

Bottom line is that the government emply cash making tactics, use police to enforce them, then employ a the CPS to prosecute - the latter is where it falls down.

I've just taken thirty mins of my life out to read that thread. It started out slow, but my god did he show them a thing or two by the end.

If only the Scamera Partnership had aimed at one of those Apache's and suffered some friendly fire. That would have been great
