Cool

Just before Xmas I paid the ridiculous sum of £160 for a pair of Rockport shoes!!! One month and light use later they squeak everytime I put my foot down and are really getting on my nerves

Do you think I have a case for taking them back because they squeak???

Yours truly
Squeaky of Essex

Sorry Disco - I'm off witty for the new year

I can't see how you might get your money back, as you didn't buy the shoes on the basis that they where not squeaky? They normally stop when they are worn in anyway.

p.s. I didn't know Rockport made grey slip-ons . Maybe not wearing white socks with them would help?

I used to find my DM boots and shoes used to squeak after I had polished them. Not cleaning them for two years did actually help the situation

Stand by for a sensible answer!

Had the same problem with a pair of walking shoes. The squeek was caused by rubbing between the upper and lower parts of the shoe which were not properly sealed at one point near the heel.

Took them back and they were changed immediately, but then this was a good sports/outdoors shop who actually seem to care about their customers. Result - no more squeeky shoes for me and more custom for the shop 'cos I've been back to buy stuff three times since.

Get 'em back to the shop and try your luck!

Disco,

I have exactly the same problem with my Rockport XCS's, they squeek like buggery and everyone looks at you in the supermarket

I feel good though as I paid a LOT less than £160 for them.

The sole started peeling off my original pair that were 2 yrs old so without question, a new pair of MY01 replacements were dispatched....RESULT.....but there the ones that squeek!!!

I think mine are XCS's, how d'you get them sooo cheap?? (or shouldn't I ask)

After thorough investigations (during lunchtime) I have discovered that it is the leather in the back of the heel (obviously the most squeaky leather known to man!), rubbing against my achilles.

Disco,

I hate paying full price for anything, so I managed to get 15% discount on the XCS's so payed about £127.00 saving about £30.00. Small change compared to what I saved on my car

Disco - told you it was the white socks. Try some 15w40. (You could use 10w30 if you aren't planning to thrash them)

Default SQUEAKY ROCKPORT SHOES

Have just returned a new pair of Rockport Edge Hill Mens Walking shoes. Left shoe squeaking. Feels like a ball under toe area. The Rockport Outlet Store at Vancouver International Airport (Templeton Street Mall Outlet) gave me a replacement pair. Apparently, I'm not the first customer to complain about their shoe sqeaking.

Talking ridiculous shoe tread

Taking of shoes i once bought a pair for £1.00, (reduced cos they were size 12), I,m size 9 but i glued some very thick socks in and they never, ever squeaked.

in fact, came in very useful when drunk as they prevented me from falling over over!!
