Another eBAY Fraudster... advice/retaliation greatly appreciated :D
I'm so angry! A while back I was looking for tickets for the Bruce Springsteen concert at the O2. My wife is a die hard fan and this was meant to be a really special evening for us.
Anyhow... I can appreciate the fact that I'm taking a gamble with eBAY already, but I've used ebay in the past, I'm not going to send my money to someone that does not check all the boxes... the guy had good feedback and some of that feedback was pertaining to ticket sales for other concerts and the like... everything seemed ok... I bought the tickets.
His communication was good and he sent the tickets on when he received them.
I got them via courier... they were in my hand, I was happy and I left appropriate feedback for what I thought was a smooth transaction.
Anyhow... we got to the O2 last night and it turns out that he claimed that he had never received the tickets and had asked for a refund. The tickets were cancelled and reissued to someone else so that the ones we had were now invalid.
So, this guy has my money, he got a refund for the tickets, and I have left the scumbag positive feedback.
I paid for them on a credit card through paypal... I assume there will be little problem getting my money back through my bank or paypal, but I don't understand where this guy was coming from. Did he think I would roll over and take it? Or could there be problems? He is located in France... I have not had to do this before so any thoughts or prior experience would be appreciated.
And what about the feedback... Is there a way of contacting ebay to remove it or change it?
I have asked him for my money back and given him a few days to respond before I take the matter further.
his username is mapie20_0
the item number was 290169544873
If there is any other information that will be helpful... let me know!

This ticket scam is quite well known ... people selling tickets they don't have (they hope they will get them and sell on at a higher price).
It's making life a misery for those who get let down at the very last moment!

Mistake was trusting the french!
Open a Dispute with ebay, then ebay will transfer the dispute to paypal. If the seller does not respond it will be in your favor and you will be issued with your money back. The only problem that may arise is that the seller has no fund in his paypal account, in which case you're better off sendign a hand written letter to your credit card company explaining everything and they will cancel the transaction for you.

If you want to leave 'follow up feedback' sign in to your ebay account, click 'my ebay' click 'feedback' on the left hand side of the page, then near the top of the next page 'go to feedback forum.' From there you can choose a user you have left feedback for in the past and post your follow up comment.
I know this doesn't solve your immediate problem though and I hope you manage to get your money back.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you may have to take this on the chin.
PayPal won't be interested if the seller has proof of delivery- which I'm guessing he has.
Pursuing him legally in France would be real costly.
Your best chance is to allege fraud to your credit card issuer.

I cant believe how lax some people are with ebay......if everyone only dealt with people that REALLY tick all the boxes scams would never happen.
If i am buying something that is important or expensive i would ONLY deal with someone i can find! Otherwise you may as well send your cash to an unknown stranger in a foreign land.....er....just like this case.

yet you sent money to someone you don't know in a country you don't live in? You have no address and contact details either?

I'll call my bank next week to see what can be done... I'll contact ebay and paypal too. I'm sure I'll be able to sort something out.
