Question Road Bike Advice Please

I have been riding a full suss (Kona Kikapu) for the last three years, but am now feeling the pull from the dark side. Basically I fancy a workout without getting covered in sh1te occasionally.

I have about £800 budgeted and am looking at a Spesh Allez Elite and also a Trek 1.7 (Maybe a 1.9 at a real push)

Can anyone offer any advice? the Spesh has the Zerts in the stays, fork and seatpin,I guess it's the closest you'll get to suspension on a road bike, but is this worth having? The trek seems to otherwise be slightly better spec'ed gear wise.

Alternatively does anyone have any better suggestions?

Cheers
Andy

You need to be posting this in the leather clad bikers section.... those leather wearing, tash sporting chaps in chains will be able to answer this one in milliseconds

Thanks mr ace detective, however you don't seem to be able to detect the difference between a bicycle and a motor bike.

Get back on point duty you bonehead

Anyone who knows anything about cycling......

The Trek 1.7 looks very nice

Might be worth checking out last year's models on Evans Cycles, bargains to be had as long as they have your frame size
