Initially I thought, what a surprise - but then I thought well, if I've got a 1K mortgage to pay for and I'm not working while I try to find my missing daughter, I need that money to continue the search.
The money was raised to aid them in this search. Just because it pays for a mortgage doesn't mean they are blowing it on tat and taking the pi55 with it.
At least he is going back to work and they are being seen to attempt to get back to what normal life they can make for thier twins.
On radio 2 there was a very moving story of a young girl going missing in Germany. In a supermarket, the parent turned round for a few seconds and the child was gone - simple as that. And that was 26 odd years ago and no word since.
I think the reason why this has blown up is A) the manner in which she was taken B) they fact that these people are considered lower middle class or whatever (I would imagine they'd have charges had they been lower working or unemployed) and finally C) the appalling way the whole affair has been portrayed in the media.
Makes me want to cry with rage, frustration, fear - take your pick! I'm paranoid over my daughter to the point of obession so it really upsets me.

Thought this was more news worthy TBH
Elsewhere, it has been reported that private investigators from the Spanish detective agency hired by the McCanns have found another blonde girl who they believe has been kidnapped.
Sources at the Metodo 3 agency reportedly claim Interpol is investigating the discovery of the girl living in the Rif mountains in northern Morocco.

cant even believe this is news...people gave money to the family to help them find their kid - pretty obvious that financial help while they put their jobs on hold was going to be part of the monies purpose - I'm surprised they took so little! I would be very interested if anyone who gave money would begrudge them using it for the reason they did.
I didnt give a penny so have no place to critise what they do with it.

It must be one of the very worst things that could ever happen to a person, I would have thought. You'd spend the rest of your life obsessing over it, and go to your grave without ever being able to get 'closure'.
