Question Tom Tom Question

This last weekend I was in the Forest of Dean and wanted to visit the Clearwell Caves.

I'll use the Tom Tom I thought, typed in the postcode ... but it then asked me for a street name or intersection.

It never used to do this - it just took me to the postcode, whats gone wrong?

Also, when I am at a position I say 'Add GPS position to favourites' so I can get back right where I am ............... it adds it, or seems to, but when away from that position it says it cannot calculate a route to that favourite????!!!

What am I doing wrong

My TomTom ALWAYS asks for house number and always has. Maybe you have Alzheimers?

Well, lets say you want to go to a place - like a Safari Park, for example.

It has a Postcode, but no street name (at least you don't know it), it has no house number either, just, maybe something like:-

Lewis Safari Park
Mythological
Hampshire
RG35 7PQ

How would you input that??

I normally press "1"

Then it usually responds by saying there isn't a "1", guess again

It is quite feasable that the Safari Park has its own Postcode ...... no number and no street.

This is what gets me foxed, see?

I then need to get the map out to find the nearest intersection of which road numbers ... which rather defeats the point of having it in the first place!

Now, what about the 'Store GPS position as a Favourite' and then it cannot calculate the route? Thats even MORE annoying!

When it asks you for house number/crossing/intersection, press the scroll down arrow and you should get "any" as an option

Most safari parks have a big ****-off house in the middle of them - stick that in

Actually, when the postcode doesn't have any numbers, as would be the case for the Lewis Safari Park ("Our monkeys only remove aerials and windscreen wipers using the manufacturers approved methods") it tends to know that and just accept the code.

I've only used the other option you're talking about once and it works fine as one of my favourites (it's my son's nursery, I use the ETA setting to decide whether I'm going to be late and therefore get someone else to pick him up)
