Checking an electrician is not a cowboy
We've got an electrician coming round today to give us a quote for putting a new fusebox in and basically repairing some dodgy electrics.
Is there anything I should check, i.e. if it was a gas engineer I would want to check he's Corgi registered.
Is there a similar registration for electricians and should he carry eveidence of being certified.
I'm not paranoid but suffered due to a dodgy electrician in the past.
Incidentally if anyone knows or can recommend a good domestic electrician in the Merseyside area let me know

Ask for a reference that you can actually call.
Anyone who is decent and any good will be happy to oblige. If they are arsey about it then say no thanks. Works well with all tradesmen.
Otherwise back to option 1
