Why is it .....
... when someone dies they were the best person in the world??
Not thinking of anyone in particular, but a news item about those who died in the caves outside Bangkok had someone say that one of the people who died were the best person you could ever wish to meet ... and it got me thinking how I always hear that, everytime!
Makes no sense whatsoever ..........

sentiment that's usually created through other people's guilt having just realised that they never gave the deceased the time of day when they were still alive ......
That's my guess anyway..

It's like when someones parents die and they say they were the best mum or dad in the world... No they werent because mine are So it's either a lie or delusion...
Seriously though, I wish there was some realism and honesty about it all and rather than patronising platitudes, I hope my family are honest about me when I pass and if to them I was the best thing since Hoopers Hooch, then they just need to say that "to them I was"... Do you see

It is like the film Beerfest when the fat bloke drowns and they have the funeral, the Jewish bloke says "he was a fat ******* but he was my fat *******!"

It's the same when some child has been killed, one way or another, and their head master/mistress comes on the TV saying "oh yes he/she was a wonderful student, hard working, popular" etc etc.

Lad in my year at school crashed his Escort turbo doing 120 coming into Leeds driving like a ********. He was known to take recreational drugs and liked a drink. Reported in the paper that he lived for his car and never drank or took drugs and was the nicest lad you could ever meet. He was a plank. didn't deserve to die but the report in the paper wasn't the lad who died put it that way.

They may have been the best people ever, but they certainly weren't the brightest. It's been p!ssing it down with a vengeance here for the last month
