Whatever happened to him then - the news stopped covering this a few days after he went missing, and we have heard nothing either way since as far as I know?
Surely if he had crashed the site would have been found by now, and if he turned up safe and well it would have been reported?

Depending on how / where he went down its possible he will never be found.
Small planes like that can have a very small cross section and from the air you might never see it. There are parts of the area that he went down where people never go,,, so possible it could be many many years.

He also had a watch with a tracker signal, but wasn't wearing it.
They've apparently scanned the whole region using hi res satellite imagery - they found loads of crashes but not his!!

i always wondered why with the money they have they dont hire or try to use something like the sr71 blackbird,if that can scan 100000 square miles of land an hour accurate enough to read a car reg then surely a couple of days with that bad boy would be able to find something
